The United Congolese Societies of America, also known as Immigrant Communities Coalition (ICC), is a 501 C 3, non-profit that was founded by a group of The Immigrants community and leaders with diverse cultural, asylum seekers and refugees, tribal, and traditional backgrounds in April 2009 with the hope of helping members of the Immigrant communities to resettle, integrate and lead a self-fulfilling life in the USA, previously. Those leaders recognize the importance of addressing the basic human needs of newly arrived immigrants resettling in Colorado. The organization's new leaders saw the need to organize a community-based organization to help support the resettlement and integration process of Congolese people seeking refuge and safety in Colorado. Due to the diversity and complex origin of immigrant people and the increased number of immigrants throughout the USA, the UCSA has extended its services nationwide to asylum seekers, refugees, immigrants, and secondary migrants.

Freemium Benefits

All of the challenges asylum seekers and refugees face are interconnected. Therefore, our solution is comprehensive and addresses these challenges from many angles. We offer employment assistance, skill training, and youth programming, and liaise with the community and, their organization government offices. These programs allow us to provide social emotional and academic support and increase empowerment. We also hold events that provide a space for people of all backgrounds to come together and celebrate. Thus helping to address the community's well-being and improve mental health and resources.

Our solution also provides a sense of community and support that impacts the refugee community’s success in the United States. This is critical because one-third of Americans have never interacted with their neighbors. We use community events to close these gaps and build bridges across communities that can create lasting connections and support.
